Gamer Guides

The concept for Gamer Guides was first sparked in 2010 during a gameplay session of Final Fantasy XIII. After trying to navigate through the official hardback guide, which was indeed beautiful and detailed, it became clear that managing a hefty book while playing wasn't the simplest task. This led to the question: could there be a more engaging and modern approach to creating guides that still captured the elegance and detail of traditional printed versions? Thus, Gamer Guides was created. Fast forward eight years, and we've learned just how challenging it can be to produce guides that are both functional and of high quality. Gamer Guides has evolved from a beginner to a more seasoned expert, navigating the ups and downs of this journey. While we may not have reached legendary status just yet, with your ongoing support, we are focused on becoming the go-to source for captivating and precise strategies, walkthroughs, and comprehensive game information. With your help (and perhaps a few tanks and healers along the way), we are confident we can reach our ultimate goal.

Available On: Excellent realization of location and setting that will have you longing to visit the Lake District. Captures the British atmosphere very well, creating something that feels authentic and twisting it to create a mysterious intrigue. Lead system can be great when encouraging you to talk to people, explore, and investigate. It’s narrative, that clocks in relatively short even when doing everything, never really coalesces after early promise.

Available On: The recreation of 16th century Japan elevates other aspects of the game. Every location is gorgeous. Combat is fun and varied. Naoe and Yasuke are the best protagonists for a long time. Polished and runs well. Convoluted and underwhelming main story. Combat still lacks depth. Parkour can still be inconsistent and frustrating. Japan has been top of Assassin’s Creed setting wishlists for as long as I can remember.

Available On: A colorful, interesting cast to adventure with. Beautiful open-world environments to explore. Flashy, chaotically fun combat. Open world puzzles are tedious and rudimentary. Base building feels like a tacked-on addition. The core crafting mechanic soon becomes a chore.

Hunting experience is best in series. Excellent weapon-feel and responsiveness in combat. Incredible soundtrack and audio effects. Ecosystem changes are impressive and remarkable visually and technically. Story is weak and you don't spend much time with a lot of the characters. Noticeable lack of endgame challenge and pinnacle fights. Seamless world doesn’t really add much to the game.

Available On: A dense, narrative driven world that reacts to your presence. Compelling central mystery that will have you making tough and nuanced decisions. Companions worth exploring and talking to, with a massive amount of dialogue and interesting side quests to dig into. A weird tier system that puts emphasis on upgrading equipment that is annoying to contend with.
