Construction on Makoshika State Park’s $5 million campground expansion project is postponed until sometime either this fall or early in 2026 after some delays in the receipt of federal funding and completion of the recent environmental assessment process. With the candidate filing deadline officially passed as of 5 p.m. Wednesday, voters of the Town of Richey will see two contested races on the ballot, meanwhile the City of Glendive electorate will not receive a ballot after only single candidates filed for open positions. The two seats on the Richey Town Council up for election this year include those currently held by Deb Gibson (Ward 1) and Tammy Clinton (Ward 2), who both filed to retain their positions on May 30 and June 9, respectively.
