13 May 2025Denbighshire County Council has become one of the first organisations to have an innovative vehicle to grid (V2G) electric vehicle (EV) charger installed in its fleet depot using AC rather than DC current. Vehicle to grid charging offers the potential for EV owners and fleets to reduce energy costs as well as to improve the resilience of the UK’s electricity system by allowing an EV to take power from the grid and also to send power back.

BackgroundThe Škoda Enyaq has been the brand’s only EV so far, but now it’s been joined by the Elroq, a new compact SUV – the largest new car segment in Europe. It shares its MEB (Modular Electric Drive Matrix) platform with other electric vehicles in the Volkswagen Group, including the Škoda Enyaq, Cupra Born, Volkswagen ID.4 and Audi Q4 e-tron. The Elroq delivers price parity with the internal combustion-engined Karoq SUV.

BackgroundFord has been late to the electric car party, but the company is now making up for lost time.
