The £22.68M upgrade to the Aurs Road between Barrhead and Newton Mearns in East Renfrewshire, Scotland, is now expected to be completed by spring 2026. Construction work originally began in January 2024, and the project was supposed to take a year to finish.

Ground investigations are continuing to determine the cause of a large void in Godstone, Surrey, after surveys detected subsurface “anomalies” near the hole that could be “a series of tunnels”. The 20m long, 5m wide and 5m deep hole formed on 17 February and was declared a major incident. Surrey County Council and its contractors have since been carrying out investigations to determine the cause of the collapse and planning how to fix the area.
