GSCENE
Gscene Magazine was launched in 1993 as a small four-page insert in Impact Magazine, a general listings publication for Brighton and Hove. Initially named 'The Queer Guide,' the magazine later changed its title to Gscene in 1995, as Brighton was not quite ready for the term 'Q' at that time. Throughout the 1990s, Gscene actively worked to enhance services for individuals living with HIV in the area. In 1997, it played an essential role in the launch of Project Zorro, a community-driven needs assessment that shifted the focus of HIV prevention funding in Brighton and Hove.

Connor Baum struts his stuff as Cyril – friendly in a dark sort of way, camp, slightly menacing – he could be in Kander and Ebb’s Kit Kat Club.

Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus raised just over £2,000 for local HIV charity Lunch Positive from two shows earlier this month. Over two nights, Retrospective: 20 Years of Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus saw the Chorus, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary, take a trip down memory lane. The shows, which were part of this year’s Brighton Fringe Festival, featured the Chorus’ greatest hits and poignant moments that speak of the queer experience over the last 20 years.
