    HUGH SULLIVANThe 2025 Hastings Half Marathon, which was cancelled on the eve of its intended run on Sunday 23 March, has been rescheduled for Sunday 5 October. Nice Work, professional organisers of the event on behalf of the Hastings Lions Club, announced the new date last week. They confirmed that all runners enrolled for the original run will have their entries automatically transferred to the new date, while alternative options are being offered to those who cannot participate then.

    HUGH SULLIVANThe housing estate being built on the site of Ashdown House, the former Department of Work & Pensions office-block off Harrow Lane, is due to accommodate 151 new homes and a fresh Aldi supermarket. The planning permission obtained in January 2022 from Hastings Borough Council also provided for the developers, Chartway Partnerships Group, to build a ground floor community centre below six residential flats within the estate.
