Tampa General Hospital (Tampa, Fla.) received approval from the Citrus County Board of Commissioners to build a new 400-bed hospital in Lecanto, Fla., according to the Citrus County Chronicle. The project will be completed in two phases and include two 120,000-square-foot medical office buildings (MOBs) and a 120-bed hospital tower, as well as a central energy plant and helipad. The campus will also include an existing freestanding emergency department (ED).

Maui Health Foundation (Wailuku, Hawaii) held a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of construction of the Nan and Wayne Kocourek Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) at Maui Medical Center in Wailuku, according to mauinow.com. The facility will adjoin the emergency department (ED) and offer streamlined diagnosis and improved care for patients requiring immediate life-saving intervention, as well as outpatient monitoring. The project is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Novant Health (Winston-Salem, N.C.) plans to build a $132 million hospital in Greenville, N.C., according to The Post and Courier. The 79,350-square-foot project will house 20 acute-care beds, operating rooms (ORs), diagnostic imaging, a rehabilitation gym, and outpatient and specialty care services. The health system also plans to build an adjacent 4-story medical center to house primary care doctor offices, rehab clinics, an urgent care center, and other services.
