The rapid rise in vaping in Britain has slowed, according to new research published in the journal Addiction. The research, funded by Cancer Research UK, surveyed a total of 88,611 people between January 2022 and January 2025 across England, Wales and Scotland on their vaping habits. Mpox case reported with no travel or close contact history

UK public health officials have reported a case of mpox clade 1b in England with no apparent travel history or link with previously confirmed cases. The patient in the North East of England was diagnosed in March and contact tracing did not identify any further cases. More work is being done by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) to determine where the individual may have caught the infection, a statement said.
NHS bricks-and-mortar pharmacies drop below 10,000 in England

Patients wait ‘too long’ for community mental health services

A significant proportion of people who access community mental health support have faced major delays, a new survey from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) has revealed. The survey of 14,000 people found four in 10 (40%) felt they had waited ‘too long’ for care. A third of people (33%) had waited three or more months for their first community mental health treatment and of those, four in 10 said they did not receive any support while they waited for the appropriate treatment.
