The Tar Heels hosted another huge group of official visitors over the weekend and in the midst of it, picked up their 20th commitment in the 2026 class. As first reported by Inside Carolina, the Tar Heels landed a commitment from 2026 ATH Aveon Williams prior to the conclusion of his official visit. This move comes less than a month after the Tar Heels extended an offer to the 6’6, 245 lbs. athlete.

The Tar Heels are on fire in the 2026 recruiting class as the team has just landed their third commitment in as many days in the cycle. As he revealed via his social media accounts, 2026 3✮ EDGE Ashton Blatt has committed to UNC following a midweek official visit to campus. He chose the Tar Heels, who just offered him back in mid-May, over Penn State, Virginia Tech and Duke, all schools that he had or were scheduled to officially visit this month.

For a second straight day, the Tar Heels have added a commitment to their 2026 class, this time in the form of one of their top linebacker prospects. As he revealed via social media, 2026 3✮ S Julian Burns has committed to UNC over Arkansas and Tennessee, amongst others. His commitment comes a couple of weeks after he was on campus for his official visit, which took place the weekend of May 30th.
