Bailey was very relaxed at the start of the draft and even picked up the golden basketball that was placed on each table in the green room and was spinning it on his finger and passing it between his hands. He dapped up his Rutgers teammate Dylan Harper when he was selected with the No. 2 pick to the Spurs and waved to the Rutgers fans that made the trip to see him get drafted. There was plenty of drama surrounding Bailey and his pre draft process.

Asa Newell Top 20 (-150 FanDuel). Newell has been predicted to go top 20 and there isn’t any reason (on court or off) to fear a slide. This is priced as a fairly safe play. Newell is a long power forward that teams covet. He knocked down enough long-range attempts in college to warrant a high selection and he has a solid frame and brings elite shot blocking qualities that any team would covet. The idea to apply that name to an anonymous scout came from my former Sports Illustrated colleague Alex Wolff, who chose it because it is the surname of the character scout in To Kill A Mockingbird. (If you haven’t read that book, start immediately after reading this column.) Here, then, is part two of my conversation with Finch. Happy scouting.
