TAMPA, Fla. — It’s halftime of Texas’ Elite Eight win over TCU and head coach Vic Schaefer has a question: “Who is going to box out No. 21?” Agnes Emma-Nnopu had eight first-half rebounds, and Schaefer was desperate to slow her down. As soon as the words came out of his mouth, Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda stood up. “With all the confidence in the world, she said that she would,” teammate Kyla Oldacre said. “And she did. Twenty-one didn’t get any more rebounds.”Mwenentanda is the ultimate team-player.

After going undefeated last season on the way to the program’s third championship, losses became something that other teams suffered. Not South Carolina. So this season, when the Gamecocks dropped even just three games (to UCLA, Texas and UConn), it took some spectators by surprise. Especially the 29-point loss to UConn, which broke South Carolina’s 71-game home winning streak. For the first time in a long time, people outside the program were seeking out reasons for the slip-ups.

TAMPA, Fla. — This city holds a lot of history for Dawn Staley, A’ja Wilson and South Carolina. It was here, in Tampa, that they played in their first Final Four in 2015, one year after Wilson committed to Staley’s program. That decision shaped South Carolina into the powerhouse it is today, and now, Staley is back, hoping to lead South Carolina to its fourth NCAA title. Wilson is here, too, hosting an event for her Nike shoe, the A’One.

Love this pick up for Michigan

grateful🤍 https://t.co/KJNH4OTsnh

This seems crazy but, with Charlisse Leger-Walker coming back from injury and the interest in Gianna Kneepkens, that roster was filling up fast.

Bruin Report Online has learned that UCLA women's basketball players Londynn Jones and Janiah Barker are in the transfer portal. Read here: https://t.co/eqbu6t3tO4

I’ve never loved anything more. This would be so damn funny.

One year we should just let the transfer portal happen completely behind the scenes and then find out where everyone is playing the first day of the season
