There are many words to describe Hannah Grace Buckley and her journey as a young athlete, but if you ask the Stringer community, and Jasper County community, many will say the same word: resilient. Webster defines resilience as a person able to withstand or recover quickly from difficult conditions. Buckley has done that on and off the field, and that was what ultimately led to multiple colleges contacting her near the end of the season to continue her athletic career.

TALLINN, Estonia (AP) — Fifteen months after Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich was arrested in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg on espionage charges, he returns there for his trial starting Wednesday behind closed doors. The 32-year-old Gershkovich, the American-born son of immigrants from the USSR, is the first Western journalist to be arrested on espionage in post-Soviet Russia.

Taylorsville defeated Pine Grove 11-4 in the third and deciding game of the Class 1A State Championship series on Saturday, May 25, at Trustmark Park in Pearl, MS, to capture its eighth state title in program history. Taylorsville baseball now ties the football program in state title wins. The Tartars banged out 12 hits on Saturday, nearly eclipsing its combined total in Game 1 and 2.
