MG, partner at the 2025 Great British Fleet Event, has previewed a new all-electric compact SUV ahead of its arrival this spring. Previewed in two teaser images, the newcomer will succeed the ZS EV, and has already been unveiled in China as the MG ES5. It’s based on the modular scalable platform (MSP) created for the highly popular MG4 hatchback and will deliver “excellent dynamic performance whether in the city or open road as well as superb range”.

Rental cars are being delivered around the Port of Antwerp-Bruges using remote driving technology in a first for Belgium. Poppy Mobility, a leading car-sharing and rental operator, has teamed up with driverless technology startup Ush, both subsidiaries of Belgian automotive giant D’Ieteren, on trials of the technology ahead of the rollout to customers. The project will support the firms’ shared vision of “making car rentals as effortless as ordering a taxi”.

Nissan is in the process of pulling out of merger talks with Honda and looking for a new partner, according to reports. The Japanese car giants signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in December over a possible ‘mega-merger’ but negotiations are now believed to have stalled on the back of latest conditions from Honda.
