INVESTIGATIVE REPORTING PROGRAM
The Investigative Reporting Program (IRP) at UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism focuses on fostering and safeguarding the art of investigative journalism. Founded in 2006 by seasoned investigative journalist Lowell Bergman, who serves as the Logan Distinguished Chair, the IRP has grown from a single seminar into a comprehensive initiative. It now includes a nonprofit newsroom, undergraduate seminars, and a fellowship program for graduates, among other projects. Students involved in the program receive valuable mentorship and hands-on experience, enabling them to uncover significant stories for leading print and broadcast media across the country. Additionally, the IRP collaborates with students to help them create and share their own investigative reports.
