The Journal of Business is a standalone newspaper focused on business news, primarily serving the greater metropolitan areas of Spokane, Washington, and Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.     Catholic Charities of Eastern Washington is set to begin $20 million in renovations at two low-income housing projects with a total of 158 housing units, says Matt Kilbourne, the organization's vice president of development and asset management. The contractor and architect for the project are Spokane-based Inland Washington LLC and Architecture All Forms Corp., respectively. Funding for the project comes from a Washington state low-income housing bond allocation awarded in 2023, Kilbourne says.

    Lanzce G. Douglass Inc. is planning a $575,000 remodel of its Spokane headquarters, a building permit application and site plan on file with the city show. Owned by developer Lanzce Douglass, the company’s two-floor office is located at 1402 E. Magnesium Road, east of Nevada Street near Lilac Lanes & Casino in north Spokane. Douglass declines to comment on the planned project. The scope of the proposed work covers about 12,000 square feet of space in the building.

    Fairchild Air Force Base is starting a $48 million project to replace a critical flight base operations facility as part of what's expected to be a broader modernization effort at the base west of Spokane. Jeffrey Johnson, deputy director for installation support at Fairchild Air Force Base, says that as planned, a two-story, 65,000-square-foot facility will be located on the same flight-line fronting site as the existing facility.

    A townhouse-style housing development for seniors, dubbed Keystone Villas, is under consideration in Spokane Valley, planning documents on file with the Washington State Environmental Policy Act Register show. As envisioned, the Keystone Villas project will have between 40 and 44 residential units, a clubhouse, and associated parking. The development site doesn't have an assigned address, but it's located on vacant land north of the former Keystone Elementary School, at 612 S. McDonald Road.
