Lanzce G. Douglass Inc. is planning a $575,000 remodel of its Spokane headquarters, a building permit application and site plan on file with the city show. Owned by developer Lanzce Douglass, the company’s two-floor office is located at 1402 E. Magnesium Road, east of Nevada Street near Lilac Lanes & Casino in north Spokane. Douglass declines to comment on the planned project. The scope of the proposed work covers about 12,000 square feet of space in the building.

Nearly two-thirds of families in Spokane County can’t afford to buy a median-priced home in the area, a new report from the Building Industry Association of Washington shows. The report, titled Housing Attainability in Washington in 2025, appears to be even more troubling for other counties in the state. Median-priced homes are unaffordable for 80% of Washington families, according to the report compiled by BIAW’s Washington Center for Housing Studies.

Spokane International Airport has submitted a permit application for its planned $8.8 million fuel facility upgrade and expansion project. The project, which is expected to begin this summer and wrap up at the end of 2026, will include the addition of a new 500,000-gallon jet fuel tank, upgrades to the three existing 250,000-gallon fuel tanks, and other associated improvements.

Discount retailer Five Below Inc. (Nasdaq: FIVE) is planning a new store in Spokane Valley, records on file with the city show. The Philadelphia-based chain has submitted a permit application for a $100,000 tenant-improvement project at the 12,200-square-foot, former Party City store at 13806 E. Indiana, in a shopping center west of Spokane Valley Mall that houses a Staples outlet and a Total Wine & More store, among other retailers.
