Eight new hotel projects are planned or underway that will add more than 800 new guest rooms in the Spokane-Coeur d'Alene market. In the past six months, the Journal has reported on seven new hotels that are being considered, are under construction, or have recently opened in the Inland Northwest. Those hotels, combined with a new Home2 Suites by Hilton planned in Spokane Valley, add over 800 new rooms to the region.

Idaho Central Credit Union first entered the Washington market in 2022 when it opened a branch in the former Banner Bank building, at 41 W. Riverside in downtown Spokane. Since then, four more ICCU branches have opened in Spokane County, with a fifth planned for the South Hill. The Chubbuck, Idaho-based credit union also has plans for three Tri-Cities, Washington, branches, the Tri-Cities Area Journal of Business reported.
