KAWB-TV (Brainerd, MN)

KAWE is a PBS member television station located in Bemidji, Minnesota, broadcasting on channel 9. It started its operations on June 1, 1980. In addition to the main station, KAWE also has a satellite station named KAWB in Brainerd, Minnesota. KAWB broadcasts on digital channel 28 but is displayed on channel 22, which was its previous analog channel. Both stations are collectively known as Lakeland Public Television.

Stabbing Suspect in Bemidji Taken into Custody

Someone accused of stabbing another person in Bemidji on Friday night has been taken into custody. The Bemidji Police Department reports that on May 30th around 11 p.m., officers and Beltrami County deputies responded to a residence on East Avenue on a report of an individual who had been stabbed inside a residence. A perimeter was established and a Code Red notification was sent to area residents. A search with a K-9 unit was conducted in the area, and a suspect was taken into custody.

The new location will feature both the bakery and a coffee shop, bringing its standard menu of cookies, cakes, pies to the area while also having new cupcake options making their debut in the near future. Knotty Pine owner Marie Kirsch first opened the shop at the Brainerd location in 2019, after drawing inspiration from her grandmother’s kitchen in Nisswa during a trip back home from Chicago.
