The Charles City and New Hampton police departments are among the agencies participating in the Special Traffic Enforcement Program (sTEP) starting Friday (04.18) and continuing through next Tuesday (04.22). The latest sTEP comes with special emphasis on impaired driving, seatbelt and speeding violations, along with texting while driving violations.

A handful of agencies participated in a mock car crash last week in Cresco. The Cresco Police Department, along with the Iowa State Patrol, Cresco Community Fire Department, Howard County Emergency Management, EMS staff from Regional Health Services of Howard County, and Quam’s Auto Service brought the demonstration to Crestwood High School to educate students about the consequences of driving while impaired and distracted driving.
