Keeping Tabs
Exciting things are happening online, and you might be missing out! I'm a journalist dedicated to tracking all the latest updates from news outlets, music producers, businesses, government bodies, artists, designers, and marketing firms. Each week, I compile and share these online initiatives in a newsletter. I've noticed how much more captivating a story or set of facts becomes when it's presented well—not just a headline, image, and text on a page. The way information is formatted and arranged is just as crucial as the content itself in grabbing attention and encouraging sharing. I'm doing the hard work for you by gathering a variety of interactive, multimedia, and immersive websites in one convenient location. I'm sifting through the vast online landscape to highlight the most interesting sites that stand out from the rest. Subscribe to the Keeping Tabs newsletter for a regular collection of innovative projects. Let’s stay updated together!

As we approach another month, I’m getting more and more disillusioned with finding a job within journalism and especially within the niche of automotive and EV journalism. But until something comes along, I’m surfing, running and freelancing for Forbes Cars & Bikes. In this issue you can click on some links and maybe learn a thing or two. Also, the AI Corner is growing as more news in this realm becomes more and more relevant. Scary and exciting. Surf trip to San Bartolo, Peru.

My first month as a Forbes Cars & Bikes contributor (read: underpaid freelancer) is wrapping up. It felt good to get back into the groove of writing semi-regularly. But it felt even better to set up calls, talk to longtime contacts and see pitches back in my inbox. For my first month “back” at it, we’re introducing a new feature of this newsletter: the Forbes Focus box with my links for the month. And you’ll notice a section dedicated to AI tabs, because that’s where we’re at these days.

If I Embarrass My Baby on TikTok, Will He Stay My Baby Forever? (NY Times) This one made laugh and then think. I don’t have a baby but I’m near a lot of babies these days (hi Ollie and Ezzie!) and so I have been thinking about how their digital footprints are already a major decision to make in their first few weeks of life. Explainer: UAW expands strikes against GM, Stellantis in fight over new contract (Reuters) I write about cars (well, mostly EVs), so the Hot Labor Summer has entered my arena.

What if this week I shared everything I have lingering on my “to-read” list? And by “list” I mean the many open tabs on my work and personal browsers. In a perfect world I would read all these (or finish them beyond the headline, subhead or intro graf), but here we are. Between the Jewish high holidays (happy new year!) and planning for a monthlong Brasil trip (Oi! Tudo bem?) these are staying unread for now.
