A Memorial Day parade will be held later this month in Dubuque. Kicking off at noon on May 26, the parade traverses Chaplain Schmitt Island, starting in the Q Casino + Resort parking lot before heading east to cross under the Dubuque-Wisconsin Bridge and then around to Veteran’s Memorial Plaza. At the plaza, a short ceremony will be held. Food trucks will then be made available for attendees. On Tuesday at 4:19PM, the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office, Peosta Police Department, Centralia-Peosta Fire Department, and Epworth Fire Department were dispatched to Pilot Grove Rd. for a report of a structure fire. Investigation revealed that a controlled burn had spread to an abandoned outbuilding, owned by Kenneth Kalb of Peosta. Due to the condition of the barn, prior to the fire, family estimates no financial loss. No injuries were reported during the incident.
