KPEZ, also recognized as "102.3 The Beat," is a radio station that serves the Austin, Texas area with a Rhythmic Contemporary music format. It operates with an effective radiated power (ERP) of 26,000 watts from a transmitter located near Sunset Valley, TX. The station is owned by iHeartMedia, Inc., which was formerly known as Clear Channel Communications. KPEZ shares its studios with four other sister stations at the Penn Field complex in the South Congress (SoCo) area of south central Austin, conveniently close to St. Edward's University. The station has been broadcasting from this location since 2002, after relocating from a downtown office building that it previously shared with KHFI-FM, situated off Barton Springs Road.
