    A man was arrested Saturday in Alpine at a “No Kings” anti-Trump administration protest after what Brewster County’s top law enforcement official described as a confrontation with a passing truck that had allegedly “rolled coal” on the crowd while displaying a “Trump Train” banner. Craig Campbell of Austin was arrested on assault and criminal mischief charges after the incident just before 2 p.m. Saturday outside the Brewster County courthouse.

    Big Bend area residents on Saturday joined demonstrators across Texas and the U.S. in protesting the Trump administration as part of a nationwide day of similar events organized under the “No Kings” banner. The vast majority of the at least 150 people gathered on the Brewster County Courthouse lawn demonstrated peacefully throughout the approximately two hour event, waving signs and cheering when passing cars honked.

"It's our last chance as citizens of a free country to show our commitment to our laws," Gonzalez said.
