KUNR-FM (Reno, NV)
KUNR (88.7 FM) is the primary National Public Radio station located in Reno, Nevada. It is owned and operated by the University of Nevada, Reno, and provides a comprehensive range of public radio content, including classical music, jazz, and NPR news and discussions. The station began broadcasting in October 1963 and became a member of NPR in 1981. KUNR features popular NPR shows like Morning Edition, Fresh Air with Terry Gross, All Things Considered, and Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me! Additionally, it broadcasts programs from Public Radio International, such as Mountain Stage and This American Life, as well as American Public Media’s A Prairie Home Companion and reruns of Car Talk. KUNR also acts as the NPR news affiliate for Carson City, making it the sole Nevada station to air Diane Rehm's talk show.

Nevada’s governor vetoed the attorney general’s bill to ban price fixing of essential goods. AB 44 would have specifically criminalized businesses from manipulatively increasing the cost of housing, medicine, and food, among other things, outside of regular supply and demand. But it faced steep opposition during the legislative session from chambers of commerce and business owners concerned about being penalized for simply raising their prices.

Republican Governor Joe Lombardo broke Nevada’s veto record that he previously set two years ago. He vetoed 87 bills, including one requiring Voter ID. In the final days of the legislative session, Democratic Assembly Speaker Steve Yeager tacked on an amendment to an existing election bill that would have required Voter ID starting with next year’s election. In his veto message, the governor says he wholeheartedly supports voter ID, but the legislation created inconsistencies for mail ballots.
