(ABC News)– Hundreds of passengers were forced to evacuate on slides during a snowstorm after their Delta flight aborted takeoff from Atlanta due to an engine issue Friday morning, the airline said. Delta Flight 2668 was traveling from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to Minneapolis-St. Paul when it suspended takeoff shortly after 9 a.m. due to “an indication of an engine issue,” the airline said.

Funeral services for Elaine Hanson, 94, Ortonville, will be held Monday, January 13, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at New Life Community Baptist Church in Ortonville. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to services. Burial will be at the Artichoke Lake Seventh Day Adventist Cemetery. The Mundwiler and Larson Funeral Home of Ortonville is handling arrangements.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol says a contractor was working on a large tower light pole along Interstate 229 near exit nine within theSioux Falls city limits when the pole began to lean and fell across the northbound lanes of the interstate, striking a passing vehicle. The driver of the Dodge Ram ProMaster van, a 60 year-old man from Sioux Falls, was killed.

January 10, 2025NEW YORK (KFGO)– Macy’s has released the list of stores that it plans to close in the coming months. Thursday, the retailer reported the closure of 66 Macy’s locations, including two stores in Minnesota. According to a state filing, the Maplewood store will close in March and approximately 60 employees will lose their jobs. It’s unclear when the Burnsville store will close.

January 10, 2025PIERRE, S.D. – South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley says a former Department of Corrections employee has been sentenced after earlier pleading guilty to crimes involving a prison inmate. Twenty two year-old Madyson Bixby of Sioux Falls was sentenced in Minnehaha County Circuit Court after pleading guilty to one felony count of Compounding a Felony and one felony count of Possession of an Unauthorized Article (a cellphone with intent to deliver to an inmate).
