KWIT (90.3 FM) serves as the National Public Radio affiliate for Sioux City, Iowa, and the surrounding areas in northwestern Iowa. The station features a blend of NPR shows and classical music. It is owned by Western Iowa Tech Community College and also runs a full-time satellite station, KOJI (90.7 FM), located in Okoboji, Iowa. Notably, KWIT is the largest NPR station in Iowa that is not affiliated with Iowa Public Radio.

*Voters decided on Tuesday that they did not support a big package of $127 million being spent to improve facilities in the South Sioux City School District. After days of early voting,the school bond measure received anaffirmative vote of only 41 percent. School officials and community members pitched the plan to add modern facilities in the district with growing enrollment and some aging buildings. The enrollment is projected to grow from the current 3,800 to about 4,300 within the next 10 years.
