KWIT (90.3 FM) serves as the National Public Radio affiliate for Sioux City, Iowa, and the surrounding areas in northwestern Iowa. The station features a blend of NPR shows and classical music. It is owned by Western Iowa Tech Community College and also runs a full-time satellite station, KOJI (90.7 FM), located in Okoboji, Iowa. Notably, KWIT is the largest NPR station in Iowa that is not affiliated with Iowa Public Radio.

The Sioux City NAACP hosted its first Juneteenth celebration since 2020 on June 19, 2025. At the event there was singing, dancing, poetry by MacKinley Nelson, and a performance by Mil Muziq. Attendees enjoyed food from Louis and Bros Family Style BBQ Food Truck and Cafe. At the Juneteenth celebration there was a presentation about the history of Juneteenth.

Students meet with a coordinator who helps with academic advising, career planning, test preparation and more. Mosley’s departure and next position as president of Bethune-Cookman University were announced on the websites of both colleges. Siouxlanders are having to navigate three days of severe heat through Sunday, when the high temperatures could reach 100-plus degrees every day. There is an Extreme Heat Warning from the National Weather Service through 11 p.m. Sunday for all three Siouxland states. As the Lewis Pool in the Morningside area of Sioux City opened at 1 p.m. Friday after the adult lap swim, more than 20 young people were waiting at the entrance. At that time, the heat index in Sioux City had hit 101 degrees.
