From the KCRG-TV9 Newsroom:Federal officials have revoked visas from five international students at the University of Iowa. That’s according to a student union which learned of the move during a webinar with the Dean of International Programs. The union also said the move to revoke visas does not mean the students cannot stay in the country nor at the university.

Planting season is one of the busiest times of the year for farmers. Growers are building a plan for the growing season and then implementing that plan with many hours spent getting inputs and seed into the soil. With all the hard work of planting season putting a strain on farmers, a lack of sleep combined with long hours can lead to stress. David Brown of Iowa State University Extension says that although sleep might be limited by long workdays, there are still ways to reduce stress.

Pay the Tax ManYou’ve already probably gone through the pain of preparing your income taxes, and paying what you owe. And even if you got a refund, you likely are mad about the fact that the government had use of your money all year and are trying to figure out how to reduce the refund…since you would use that money more wisely than the government. But since today is the deadline for filing that federal income tax return, we have a another reminder of how much we pay in taxes…and where it goes.

They’ve Now Invented EverythingWith all the serious stuff going on in the world, let’s close this week on a different note. Studies have shown that among the most stressful things when folks get married is choice of toothpaste. Does he start using what she prefers, or vice versa? I grew up in a split household; Mom preferred Crest, while Dad was a Colgate man. But apparently many couples try to merge. Same with soda pop…allegiance with Coke products, or Pepsi?

Keeping AM in Cars..and On the AirWe’ve talked here before about legislation in Congress to mandate that AM radios be included in all cars made in the United States…the “AM in Every Vehicle Act”. And with reintroduction of the bill in this Congress, 60 senators have signed on as co-sponsors, meaning it would survive a filibuster and would be on the fast track to approval. So far, so good on that front.
