La Prensa Texas

La Prensa Texas

Founded in 1913, La Prensa Texas is a historic, independently-operated newspaper and online platform that publishes in both English and Spanish. We focus on a broad range of local news relevant to the San Antonio community. As the first and oldest bilingual newspaper in Texas, La Prensa was revitalized in June 2018 by Steve Duran, with the goal of offering a positive and diverse voice, particularly for marginalized communities seeking important information that affects their lives. La Prensa Texas is dedicated to our community, providing hyperlocal news that includes sports coverage and live polls to keep our diverse audience well-informed. Our active engagement with the community fosters communication and interaction on various issues. Unlike larger media outlets, we present newsworthy topics in a unique and impactful way. We serve as a reliable, accessible, and affordable platform for businesses, entrepreneurs, government, educational institutions, and the community at large. Our mission is to cover every corner of our city and beyond, and we plan to achieve this by dividing San Antonio into districts for comprehensive coverage of news. La Prensa Texas embraces an open-source model, shedding light on cultural nuances while maintaining a positive outlook by highlighting the strengths and potential of our city.
