For example, the ancient Celtic people utilized components to build Stonehenge in England. The oldest parts of the structure were built from 3000 to 2935 BCE, and rather than being shaped onsite, the very large, upright sarsen stones that make up the bulk of the structure were quarried offsite in the Marlborough Downs more than 20 miles away from the actual build site.
