Over fifty years after Lev Gleason Publications shut down, Lev Gleason® Incorporated has made a comeback with four new imprints that pay homage to the iconic publisher: COMIC HOUSE, COMIC HOUSE ARCHIVES, LEV GLEASON LIBRARY, and NEW FRIDAY. Distribution will be handled by Diamond Comics, Diamond Books, and Ingram Content Group. This revival kicked off in 2020 with the release of AMERICAN DAREDEVIL, the first complete biography of Lev Gleason, published by Chapterhouse Publishing. Brett Dakin, Gleason's great-nephew, delved into family archives and FBI files to share the story of Gleason’s remarkable life and career. The biography, which received positive reviews, uncovered the details of Gleason’s swift ascent in the comic world and his bold progressive activism. In a tribute to one of Lev Gleason’s early projects, we introduced COMIC HOUSE, which will incorporate five years of existing Chapterhouse superhero titles alongside revamped versions of beloved Gleason characters such as Silver Streak, Crimebuster, and Daredevil. At the heart of COMIC HOUSE will be a monthly 80-page anthology titled Lev Gleason Presents, serving as a hub for the entire universe. The debut issue will feature Silver Streak Issue One along with ongoing stories of Captain Canuck and Freelance, set to hit comic book stores globally in April 2021. In addition to the ongoing efforts to restore and publish the full catalog of Richard Comely's Captain Canuck and other related properties, the new COMIC HOUSE ARCHIVES will focus on collecting and restoring the entire Lev Gleason library, starting with its superhero titles. Although this extensive project will take time, we are dedicated to making digitally restored collections available for free on our website.
