It seemed the safe space of the LGBT+group was safe for everyone except openly Jewish me But as the years crept by, I began to find Jewish spaces that were welcoming of LGBT+ people. The film I had made was shown at the UK Jewish Film Festival and screened at the JW3 Jewish cultural centre in London. Feeling glad and thankful, I began to slowly return to Judaism and the Jewish community while remaining a fierce advocate for gay causes.

My eldest daughter is in art school now, studying photography. We take walks along the same street today as we did when she was younger, but now we discuss creativity and the path of the artist. I wonder if she will always think of herself as a photographer? She started young, but she could change. Like her, I started in the world of my imagination, but then, somehow, became captivated by the camera. It seemed to offer a doorway into illustrating my ideas.

It made sense. I’ve watched his work evolve over the years and it seemed clear that he was outgrowing that system — which is really saying something, since the SL is an advanced $7k interchangeable lens camera.
