The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) recently confirmed that it recorded a 13.61% year-on-year increase in container handling during March 2025, reaching 699,928 TEUs compared to 616,079 TEUs in the same period the previous year. Exported containers, it said, saw a significant rise of 31.82% during this period, totalling 280,341 TEUs – up from 212,672 TEUs in the same period last year.

Investec Bank plc (Investec) has announced that its real estate team has provided a joint venture (JV) between a logistics fund, sponsored by CBRE Investment Management (CBRE IM) and Chancerygate, with an £18 million senior loan for the development of a 93,000ft², Grade A industrial scheme in Croydon, South London. DHL eCommerce UK has announced the opening of a new 55,000ft² site in Newcastle, designed to boost capacity to meet customer demand across the North East. The site will reportedly handle up to 15,000 parcels each day with the development follows the opening of DHL’s Coventry Hub last month, with both forming part of DHL eCommerce UK’s £482m investment into its UK infrastructure.
