All of these factors remind me of those glory days of the PC. Slipgate Ironworks has worn its inspirations proudly to create an RTS that feels familiar yet fresh. The challenge of claiming resources and defending against others is there, but it does so with plenty of routes to strategize your approach to each level.

Saber Interactive and developer Twirlbound has dropped a new trailer for The Knightling, and reminded us it’s coming on August 28th. The new gameplay trailer was released during the Galaxies Gaming Showcase, and shows an “exciting mix of exploration, questing, combat and platforming that awaits”. Check it out, below. Stoic were behind one of my favourite series when getting into games journalism. I covered The Banner Saga and fell in love with how the developers were able to blend a deeply personal story with exciting real-time strategy. While Towerborne is a different beast altogether, that unique charm is still there. RTS is nowhere in sight. Instead, it is a side-scrolling action-RPG that feels almost familiar.

Developer Veewo Games has announced a July 17th release date for the early access version of Neon Abyss 2, coming to PC via Steam. One of the big changes for the sequel will be the multiplayer addition, which is actually getting a playtest, and is available now if you want to sign up for it on the official website. You can also see it in action in a new trailer, showcased during the Galaxies Gaming Showcase.
