Ashley Ong, 31, married Jay Son Tan, 34 on 17 June 2023 at Tythe Barn. She wore three dress: a traditional red and gold Qun Kwa, a sleeveless lace dress from Martina Liana from Angelica Bridal in London, and a full-length gold sequin evening gown from Nadine Merabi.

Designer Frida Hoffman-Clark, 31, married Dave Clark, 31 on 18th June at Tythe in Oxfordshire – one of our favourite UK barn wedding venues. She designed and wore a jumpsuit inspired by her mother’s wedding dress from May 1985. Frida launched her own bridal business, Kladek, in October 2022. We have a closeness and a special bond. It was the same with my grandma who passed away two years ago, ours was a very special connection.

I went to Browns Bride for Dana Harel, both of The Wedding Club boutiques in Knightsbridge and South Kensington for Leah da Gloria, Bliss Monique Lhuillier and Berta and then Suzanne Neville was recommended by a very good friend who said the one hour fitting I had there would be the best one I would do. She was right. All of Suzanne’s dresses have an integral corset so they can pull the dresses in tight, they actually feel like they fit.

Most had really big skirts, they were backless, or with cut-outs, or no sleeves. I didn’t start looking for a dress until four months before the wedding. We had been engaged for nearly four and a half years, so we were already living the marriage, we just hadn’t had the wedding yet. We had a baby boy, then my dad died when our son was six months old, so I wasn’t going to rush into a big celebration.

I felt very understood by everyone who was helping me. I knew it was where I’d buy my wedding dress – and only a few months after I’d given birth to my son in November 2022. I booked to go with my maid of honour and bridesmaid because a friend had sent me an image of Kate’s Okotan separates that she thought I’d like. I absolutely loved the look, a silk-crepe off-the-shoulder corset top and skirt. The top is zipped at the back, then it’s draped so it pulls in on the waist.
