The Lovell Chronicle is a weekly newspaper that serves the Lovell, Wyoming area. It features news and sports updates for the communities of Lovell, Byron, Cowley, Deaver, and Frannie. The newspaper made its debut on May 31, 1906, and has kept its original name ever since.

The new Lovell amphitheater in Armory Park is taking shape, with the long-awaited structure rising from its foundation over the last three weeks, thanks to the work of contractor Midway Construction and Dirt Work. After the foundation was laid last fall, Midway started work on the I-beam structure on May 15-16, then added treated cedar inlay wood and roof joists over the ensuing two weeks, Midway owner Pete Baxendale said. “The weather has definitely slowed us down some,” Baxendale said.

The annual Lovell Community Day of Goodwill is scheduled for Saturday, June 14, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Lovell Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints parking lot. Organizers welcome donations of clothing and home goods in clean and good condition, including clothing or shoes with no stains, rips or tears and housewares, toys, books and small tools. But large appliances, furniture and electronics will not be accepted. Donations will be accepted from 7 to 8 a.m. June 14 prior to the event.

A pallet bearing a tall stack of drinking water cans was moved into the firehall in Deaver Tuesday morning, the product of a grant the Deaver-Frannie Fire Department landed recently. The water – 96 cases of canned drinking water – came from a grant the fire district wrote and was awarded by the National Volunteer Fire Council in conjunction with Anheuser-Busch, which produced the cans of water.

A 19-year-old Cody man has been charged with illegally entering his ex-girlfriend’s home, stealing her opened Christmas presents and exposing her and her family to a potential propane explosion following their breakup last Christmas. Zachary George Magargal was arraigned Tuesday in the Fifth Judicial District Court of Big Horn County. Facing felony counts of attempted arson in the first degree and burglary as well as misdemeanor criminal entry, he entered not guilty pleas to all three.
