US-based MicroTransponder has reported positive long-term results for stroke patients who received the company’s paired vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) therapy. The data, published in the medical journal Stroke, demonstrated significant and meaningful clinical improvements that lasted a year. A new AI model will be trained on a large set of NHS data in hopes of identifying early interventions for patient care. The generative AI model, called Foresight, is being trained on de-identified data from 57 million people in England as part of a pilot study conducted by University College London (UCL) and King’s College London (KCL). De-identified data is data in which personal information has been stripped away, meaning it is not possible to link back to an individual, ensuring privacy.
