Yet to many, she is an unfamiliar name because her accomplishments have been overshadowed by those of the more famous Milton Avery, her husband.

When Kevin Brost and his partner, Ian Hamilton, finished the chore of renovating their 1940s weekend cottage in Door County, Wisconsin, they turned to their potting shed as the next project.
