The newspaper was part of Van Rensburg’s initiatives at Swaneng and Shashe River School, along with Madiba Secondary School in Mahalapye. In 1980, after Botswana gained independence, Van Rensburg moved to Zimbabwe to further his Education With Production Project.

    Debswana and the Botswana Power Corporation (BPC) signed a Memorandum of Agreement last week that will allow the diamond giant to access and demonstrate its use of renewable energy. Debswana intends to reach carbon neutrality at its operations by 2030 and the adoption of renewable energy forms a major component of this effort.
