He was visiting his parents and down for the weekend from Toronto and it turns out, we’ve got a lot in common. Before this trip, I’d been to Windsor Essex twice. Once in 2005 for a friends wedding in Leamington and in 2024 for a cottage weekend that included kayaking in Point Pelee and Lake Erie. I stayed at a Parks Canada oTENTik for the first time and here are my takeaways to help you have a great time. I’d heard of them and wanted to stay in one but the timing hadn’t aligned with my schedule until now. This was in mid-April in Point Pelee National Park as part of a weekend adventure in Ontario’s Windsor Essex region. It's a unique experience that can be classified as "glamping" as you've got running water, toilets and showers on the grounds.
