Pine Lake Prep’s boys golf team came tantalizingly close to claiming a state championship this spring, and its collective success didn’t go unnoticed. The Pride features five of the 12 members on the Record and Landmark All-Iredell County Boys Golf Team. Leading the way is Harrison Aull. Aull, the R&L Iredell County Boys Golfer of the Year, led Pine Lake Prep to a 2A state runner-up finish. He carded a 150 (75-75) to tie for sixth place at the state tournament hosted at Pinehurst No. 6.

Mooresville High School recently named Lucy Mitchell its new girls basketball head coach. Since 2018, the Tennessee native has called Mooresville home. She is a health, physical education and weight training teacher at the school. Mitchell previously led the boys and girls tennis teams as well as basketball at Selma Burke Middle School. In her first two seasons, she guided the Bears to a 31-0 record and two conference championships in basketball.
