Motors

An engine or motor is a device that changes one type of energy into mechanical energy. Heat engines burn fuel to generate heat, which produces force. Electric motors transform electrical energy into movement, while pneumatic motors work with compressed air. Wind-up toys use clockwork motors that rely on elastic energy. In living organisms, molecular motors, such as myosins found in muscles, utilize chemical energy to generate force and enable movement.
