Italian menswear brand Boggi Milano has entered the U.S. market with an ambitious retail expansion plan, anchored by three major store openings in New York City. The brand, which currently has 244 locations in 60 countries, opened a boutique at 115 Mercer Street in SoHo earlier this year. Today marks the grand opening of a second location at 527 Madison Avenue (on the corner of East 54th Street). A third location in The Shops at Columbus Circle will open in June.

MR magazine is sad to report the passing last week of Joey Oks, one of the great “characters” and bright lights in the men’s clothing business. A passionate baseball fan, Joey was a great friend to so many manufacturers, retailers, and professional athletes. Famous for his sense of humor, creative antics, and a big heart, he will be greatly missed by all. The Metropolitan Museum of Art hosted the annual Met Gala last night, celebrating the opening of its latest exhibition at The Costume Institute, Superfine: Tailoring Black Style. This is the first show to focus on menswear since Men in Skirts in 2003, and the first time that an exhibit has focused solely on Black fashion.

In an emotional and proud moment for the Rudman family, Miami-Dade County has officially renamed a street in the historic Little River District to “Rudman Way.” The newly designated roadway, situated near the Miami Design District and Little Haiti, pays tribute to the late Raul Rudman, a pioneering entrepreneur, and honors his sons Frank and Isaac Rudman, along with their six children: Abe, Stan, Jeff, Sandra, Michelle, and Susy Rudman. “This is a very special day,” said Stan Rudman.
