New England Review

The New England Review (NER) is a literary magazine that comes out four times a year and is published by Middlebury College. It was established in 1978 in New Hampshire by Sydney Lea, a poet, novelist, editor, and professor, along with poet Jay Parini. From 1982, when it moved to Middlebury College, it was known as New England Review & Bread Loaf Quarterly until 1991, during which time it was officially linked to the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference. In 1991, the publication returned to its original name, New England Review, and chose to maintain only informal connections with the Writers' Conference.
