The win qualifies the Vikings for its second straight Super Regional tournament appearance where they are set to face Central Oklahoma on May 15 and 16. It also improves their season record to 49-9 overall and pushes the team’s win streak to 24 in a row.

MAGNOLIA, ARK (Dakota News Now) - Augustana freshman Norah Christiansen knocked a go-ahead two-run homer to seal the Viking victory against Southern Arkansas on Friday afternoon at the NCAA Central Region Tournament…and it only took 12 innings of action to do it. AU will face Missouri Southern in the 1:00 PM championship game on Saturday afternoon after they went on to eliminate Southern Arkansas later in the evening 3-0.

The Vikings will await the results of game two in the Central Region 2, facing the winner between host No. 2 seed Southern Arkansas or No. 7 seed Harding at 1 p.m. on Friday afternoon.

(Dakota News Now) - Top-seeded Augustana turned up the firepower in the fifth inning to break the tie and take down fifth-seeded Minnesota Duluth by a score of 8-2 in the NSIC Softball Tournament semifinals on Friday afternoon at Bowden Field. The Vikings combined for nine hits in six innings of plate action, led by Lexi Lander and Sidney Smart’s two hits apiece. Andrea Cain collected two RBI, one homerun, one walk with one hit by pitch while scoring two runs.
