    The Bellevue Branch Creek has had more than its fare share of use and abuse. The tributary of the Eno River, snakes through the bamboo forest at Gold Park, behind the Bellevue Mill apartments and through the Wendy Olson Arboretum near downtown Hillsborough. Even before the Bellevue Cotton Mill was in operation and discharging wastewater directly into the Bellevue Branch, the waterway was used by locals for decades as a dumping site.
