A Federal High Court in Kano has issued an order halting the enforcement of the Kano State Emirate Council Repeal Law by the Kano State Government. Justice Mohammed Liman granted the order following an application by Alhaji Aminu Babba Dan Agundi, the Sarkin Dawaki Babba of the Kano Emirate. According to reports, court papers on the case have been circulating online. On Thursday, the Kano State House of Assembly dissolved all four newly created emirate councils in the state.

The reinstated Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi, has arrived at the Kano Government House. Sanusi’s arrival was for the official presentation of his appointment letter and the resumption of his duties as the sole first-class Emir of the state. Following security advice, a subdued homecoming reception was organized for the Emir upon his late Thursday arrival in Kano.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and celebrity barman, Cubana Chief Priest, have reached an agreement to resolve the naira abuse case outside of court. Cubana Chief Priest was facing charges of naira abuse brought against him by the EFCC. However, the socialite was granted bail in the sum of ₦10 million. The anti-graft agency had earlier charged a controversial crossdresser, Idris Okuneye aka Bobrisky to court for Naira abuse.

Aminu Surajo Bono, famous Kannywood movie director is dead. Aminu collapsed on Monday evening and was rushed to the hospital where the doctors confirmed his death. The deceased will be buried according to Muslim rites on Tuesday. Confirming his death, actor Ali Nuhu, in an Instagram post on Monday night, paid tributes to Bono. Sharing his picture, he wrote: “May God have mercy on Aminu S Bono and make paradise your final abode.”
