NHK Japan Broadcasting Corporation
NHK is the main public broadcasting organization in Japan. It is a publicly funded corporation that relies on the fees paid by viewers for their television licenses. The name NHK is commonly recognized by its English initials. The organization runs two main terrestrial television channels: NHK General TV and NHK Educational TV. In addition, NHK offers two satellite TV services, NHK BS-1 and NHK BS Premium, both of which are available in high definition. NHK also operates three radio networks: NHK Radio 1, NHK Radio 2, and NHK FM. Furthermore, NHK provides an international broadcasting service named NHK World. This includes NHK World TV, NHK World Premium, and the shortwave radio service called Radio Japan (RJ). Some of the programs from World Radio Japan are also accessible online.
