TBS Television (Japan)

The TBS Group stands as one of Japan's leading media firms, fully embracing the dynamic shifts occurring in the broadcasting landscape. While we take pride in our history, we are equally focused on forging a path toward the future. Our company has diversified its operations across various sectors, including news, television programming, cultural events, real estate, product development, and retail. At the heart of our enterprise is TBS Television, renowned for producing numerous successful shows in genres such as drama, variety, and news, and for being a key player in shaping Japan's broadcasting heritage. For over fifty years, TBS has captivated audiences globally with its innovative programs and content. Notable international hits like America’s Funniest Home Videos, Takeshi’s Castle, and Ninja Warrior all originated from TBS, showcasing our ability to entertain viewers far and wide. We have created a rich tapestry of content across multiple genres, including program formats, dramas, anime, and films, which have resonated with audiences in various countries. Despite our achievements, we remain committed to growth. While we continue to focus on program and format sales and collaborations, TBS has also embarked on an exciting new chapter, expanding our international presence and branding efforts. This includes ventures into product commercialization, content distribution, and video game creation, as well as opening adventure parks inspired by Ninja Warrior in the U.K. and Israel. As technological advancements and lifestyle changes reshape the broadcasting environment, TBS views this transformation as a golden opportunity to showcase the strength of our long-established content production capabilities. In April 2018, we launched Paravi, a subscription and transactional video-on-demand service developed in partnership with leading media groups in Japan. Paravi allows viewers to access content from these media companies "anytime, anywhere, and on any device," complementing our traditional broadcasting, satellite, and radio channels. In January 2019, TBS unveiled the "Akasaka Entertainment City Initiative," which aims to establish a hub for the development of next-generation media and entertainment. Over the next decade, we plan to revitalize the area surrounding our headquarters in Tokyo's Akasaka district, creating new entertainment and live performance venues that promise unforgettable experiences for visitors from Japan and beyond. Our vision is clear: to make Akasaka a place that generates unparalleled excitement worldwide, and we are determined to realize this ambitious vision. The TBS Group is dedicated to ensuring that all content "From TBS" contributes to a brighter future. We are excited to
