A few weeks ago I was mourning the end of summer and fully in “summer bucket list” mode. But now, on the very last weekend of summer, I’ve had a change of heart: I’m ready for transition weather. I’m ready for cooler temps and light jackets and weather nice enough to walk around in without feeling immediately overheated. I started putting away my summer clothes and making fall wardrobe purchases.

Hi, happy August! I can’t believe we’re already in the final few weeks of summer — every year around this time I start to get obsessive about my summer bucket list. Did I cook all the fun summer recipes? Did I make it to the beach? Did I enjoy enough outdoor dining? Did I drink enough wine outdoors on patios? It’s definitely a little obsessive and Type A of me, but I love trying to make the most of every last minute of summer before the weather starts to turn.

This weekend was the first weekend since early June where I actually had a chance to sit still. That’s not a complaint — we’ve had a great summer doing all the summer things — travel, beaches, pools, road trips, ice cream, quality time with family and friends. (On that note, I also am really proud of this Vox travel guide we launched in early July.
