NITV

NITV

National Indigenous Television (NITV) is a television channel in Australia that primarily showcases content created by Indigenous Australians. Initially, NITV was available only through cable and satellite services, with a few limited broadcasts over the air in specific remote locations. In 2010, the Australian Government undertook a comprehensive review of its support for Indigenous broadcasting and media. This review was led by former senior public servant Neville Stevens, with input from Expert Panel members Laurie Patton and Kerrynne Liddle. The findings suggested that NITV should continue to receive government funding, provided that it undergoes a restructuring process.
