NPU recently received {span}first place in the “community engagement event” category at the Blue Pencil and Gold Screen awards ceremony, hosted by the National Association of Government Communicators, according to city officials.

NORTH PORT — Even adults can learn how to talk. At least better than they already do. The North Port Toastmasters Club is a nonprofit that helps people improve on their communication skills, like public speaking. The North Port organization is part of Toastmasters International.

NORTH PORT — Markell Porter, a graduating senior from North Port High School, won a new set of wheels at Project Graduation. Porter was given a 2016 Ford F-150 donated by the city of North Port. PORT CHARLOTTE — Eden Moody, 12, is working toward her recovery after being hospitalized with serious injuries sustained from being hit by a car while riding a scooter.
